The scene: The computer desk, 10:45 PM
Coach: What are these for? (Gestures to a stack of baby photos mounted on foam. Sits down at computer.)
Boss: An activity book for Sam. I'm going to attach them to the page with snaps, and a picture of Sam goes in the middle.
Coach: Hmmm.
Boss: With a poem. Something like "babies happy, babies sad ... of all the babies I can see, there isn't one as cute as me!"
Coach: Hmmm.
Boss: I'll also attach live monkeys.
Coach: Hmmm.

Boss: And dinosaurs.

Coach: Huh? Yeah.

You make the coolest things. Sam's so lucky! My mom never made me things with live monkeys and dinosaurs attached. Maybe it's because I'm a middle child.
Yeah, I think Sammy's going to like it. And it's really going to help him be reverent during sacrament meeting. The monkeys will show him how to fold his arms AND legs, and the dinosaurs will keep Ronny Guymon at bay. I'm not sure what the scantily clad women will do, but I'm sure we'll think of something.
Also, middle children suck!
What is the source of monkies all of a sudden? I feel rather jipped that we never went on monkey catching excursions over the summer if they are simply hanging out in Iowa City. Does that mean Sammy's allowed to have a live monkey pet now? :)
I didn't know where else to post this; this seemed as appropriate a place as any. Look at Grover's Thoughts on blogspot. My friend sent it to me - it's so cute and funny! Incidentally, my husband doesn't listen to me when I tell to ONLY get MILK when he goes to the store for milk. Like last night, when he was supposed to get milk (and a Snickers bar) and he came home with milk, a Snickers bar, an Almond Joy bar, five boxes of cereal, oatmeal, plastic spoons, and 25 containers of yogurt.
Hey, at least he got the important stuff--the Snickers bar!
Incidentally, have you tried to new caramel Reese's peanut butter cups? Yummy!
Sue--there do seem to be a lot of Monkeys running around IC lately. I'm not sure if it has to do with the zoo riot, or if it's publicity for the U of I student government election, in which a candidate for the King Kong party (seriously!) is a prime(ate) contender.
Alas, Sam is not allowed to have his own monkey. Malcm is, though.
I have not tried those (the Reese's peanut butter-caramel cups) because they just looked too extreme for me. I'm not saying that I'm not into the hard stuff, those things just looked over the top! But now I'm inspired to try one. I know that the caramel Nestle Crunch bars are real good . . .
OK, since I believe in scientific research and all, I went and tried the caramel Reese's cups, and I agree with you, they are yummy! The conclusion matches the hypothesis. I'd be happy to do more research in this field of study.
